My Name is Johanna Danciu, with a passion for innovation in aerospace and defense technology. Currently developing a wide range of visual communications to tell a story and inspire through digital and print design.
Previously worked as a graphic design instructor. There is a saying that if you want to learn something well, you must be able to explain it to others. Thus I decided to learn my craft by teaching it to others, and developed advanced skills in graphic design. In my freelancing jobs I have concentrated mainly on print-work. I’m excited to explore opportunities where I can leverage my background in design and technology to contribute to cutting-edge projects and collaborate with like-minded professionals.
Graphic Design (2023-Present)
LCS contractor for Aerojet Rocketdyne an aerospace and defense company, I was assigned to work with Creative Services to build and design print and digital media.
• Design identifiers, dynamic ads, spec sheets, sell sheets, social media images, signage, and PowerPoint presentations
• Redesign/rebrand infographics, charts, brochures, posters, flyers and pullup-banners
• Ensure all designs align with brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity
• Communicate and coordinate with outside printing services and create print ready material
• Maintain up to date knowlege with design, productions trends and software
• Work with Lytho (Project Management software) to manage multiple design projects
at once, communicate with stakeholders and meet deadlines on time and budget
Freelance/Graphic Design & Front-end Web developer (2004-2022)
Freelance position, responsibilities included creating a variety of materials for both print and online to promote the company services.
• Designed and prepared conference event handout material (trifold, flyers, programs)
• Designed the quarterly company magazine
• Created PowerPoint presentations, online splash pages and social media campaigns
• Web site development, system testing and troubleshooting
• Ensure brand consistency in all work produced
• Used a wide range of typography and photography to appeal to specific audiences
• Dealt with various applications, and ensured that all client needs were met
• Reviewed layouts and suggested improvements as needed
Graphic Design & Lead Instructor (2005-2017)
Responsible for classroom instruction, curriculum development, and the company’s advertising material.
• Taught various Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver,Anime)
• Developed curriculum for beginning to intermediate levels for a diverse student population
• Taught extracurricular classes: Color Theory, Typography, coding (DHTML, CSS and JavaScript)
• Guided and showcased students artwork for open house and other school events
• Lead Instructor for 5 departments, guided and mentored the teaching personnel
• Designed numerous marketing materials (logos, brochures, newsletters, infographics, presentations, flyers)
for the school’s promotional campaings
